I am a fourth generation Californian. My great great grandmother was the first Caucasian bride in Orange County. Her parents were among the eleven families who sailed around the horn and founded the town of Anaheim. My great great grandmother wrote a diary from 1857 – 1914. Many of my painting ideas come from this heritage.
As a child, growing up in a small rural town, many scenes come from this quaint uncomplicated way of life. My fascination with the sea is like a tide ebbing through many of my backgrounds, as we had a tiny place in the sixties by Scotsman Cove in Laguna Beach.
Now, I live on a 40 acre ranch, raising cattle, riding horses and surrounded by chickens, birds, and a sprawling garden that people come for miles to see. I have been painting in oils and acrylics for over 45 years – each unique piece tells a story.
I’ve had no formal art training. They all come from my heart – a gift from God.
